Disney World is full of construction projects right now. Between the upcoming Piston Peak in Magic Kingdom, Monstropolis in Hollywood Studios, and Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom, there is construction all over Disney.
And we just noticed an all-new construction project happening over in EPCOT.
On a recent visit to EPCOT while walking around World Showcase, we noticed some changes happening over in the Germany Pavilion.
We saw that the roof of Das Kaufhaus is under construction for what looks like significant renovations. The red shingles that cover the roofs around the pavilion have been removed. And now in their place is a brown scrim covering the roof.
The scrim blends into the color scheme of the rest of the roofs in the pavilion and does not disturb the look of the pavilion too much. The shingles around the pavilion do appear to be older, so this refurbishment is not surprising.
There is other construction happening in the Germany Pavilion; the bathrooms and Volkskunst Shop are also currently closed for refurbishment. We are so happy to see Disney updating one of our favorite pavilions!
