Buying A D23-Exclusive Loungefly Just Got COMPLICATED

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is almost here! Disney fans will gather in Anaheim, California, from August 14th to 16th to watch special panels, enjoy fun photo ops, and even buy exclusive souvenirs!

Disney Loungeflys are super popular bags themed after iconic Disney characters, and Disney fans can’t wait to get their hands on them at the expo. Loungefly is selling certain D23-exclusive bags online at the Loungefly website, and you don’t need an expo ticket to get them! But the process is a little complicated, so we’re breaking it down for our fellow Loungefly lovers.

Loungefly is implementing a new pre-authorization process to buy convention-exclusive bags online, including the D23 Loungefly bags, and you don’t need a D23 ticket to get them! Pre-authorization lets you input your credit card info for the item you want to enter for a chance to purchase. This system lets everyone have a fair chance to shop special drops, notably con-exclusives, without the day-of stress.

A pre-authorization window will open from August 10th, 2026 at 9 AM PT and close August 13th, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT for select special items. Go to the item you want on the Loungefly website, click “Enter Now,” and you’ll be taken to a page that is similar to the checkout page. You’ll enter your credit card information for the item you want, and a hold charge for the item will be added to your card.

This must be done individually for every item you want to purchase. If you win, you will receive an email confirming your item has shipped, and you’ll be charged on the card you used for pre-authorization. You’ll only receive an email if you are a winner. If you are not selected as a winner to shop that item, the hold will drop, and you won’t be charged.

If an item is still in stock after the pre-authorization period, it will launch on site for purchase after the pre-authorization window closes and after winners have been notified. If you’re not selected as a winner for an item after the pre-authorization period, you’ll need to purchase the item like normal; there is no waitlist.

If you’ll be at the D23 Expo in person, you won’t need to go through the pre-authorization process. Just head to Mickey Avenue in Hall C at the Anaheim Convention Center, and get ready to shop ’till you drop!
