Measles Exposure Warning Issued For Universal Studios Hollywood

A warning about a measles exposure has been issued for Universal Studios Hollywood, and we have everything you need to know about this message.

According to KTLA, Los Angeles County health officials are now warning guests who visited Universal Studios Hollywood late last month that they might have been exposed to measles. The infectious person visited the park from 10 AM to 9 PM on July 26th, 2026.

Measles is a serious respiratory disease caused by an airborne virus and is among one of the most contagious diseases in the world. Every nine out of 10 people who are unvaccinated against measles and come into close contact with an infected person can become infected. According to the CDC, the best way to prevent measles is by receiving the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine or the measles-mumps-rubella-varicella (MMRV) vaccine. To receive a vaccine, you should contact your local health care provider.

Health officials have provided some recommendations for anyone who had visited the park at that time:

Confirm whether they are vaccinated against measles. People who have not had measles in the past and have not received a measles vaccine are at risk of developing the disease after exposure and should monitor for symptoms.
Contact their health care provider as soon as possible if they are pregnant, an infant, immunocompromised and/or unvaccinated, regardless of vaccination history.
Call a health care provider immediately if symptoms develop. Stay home and avoid school, work, and large gatherings.

Officials also urged residents to call ahead to notify staff of a possible measles exposure, including telling them about any symptoms they may be experiencing, instead of immediately visiting a health care facility. Symptoms of measles may include:

Cough
Fever
Rash
Red, watery eyes

This warning comes as measles cases continue to rise nationwide and in California, with a confirmed case at Disneyland in Anaheim earlier this year.
