We’re in Disney World every day, and that’s how we get a chance to see just how much things change from day to day.

Just a few days ago, we noticed that, out of nowhere, Disney closed the majority of the Volkskunst shop and the public bathrooms in EPCOT‘s Germany Pavilion. When we spoke to a Cast Member, we were informed that it’s to fix the bathrooms, but it also means a pretty massive merchandise spot is no longer available. That’s not the case anymore, though, because Disney just reopened this EPCOT store for the first time in SIX YEARS.
Der Teddybär is a store inside the Germany Pavilion and was known for selling plushes and stuffed animals of all kinds.

Yes, the whole store is basically dedicated to plushes and other toys, and we’re so thrilled it’s back open! You’ll find special gifts, Steiff plush toys, as well as gifts that represent both Rapunzel and Snow White’s homes, as both fairytales are set in/inspired by Germany.

Disney didn’t announce this opening, so they also didn’t reveal if the plan is for this store to now be open from here on out, or only while Volkskunst remains under construction. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it all, that’s for sure, and will continue to update you on what we see.

The last time we saw this store open was during a temporary Annual Passholder meet and greet in 2025, but no merchandise was available to purchase at that time. Non-Annual Passholders also weren’t allowed inside, so this is the first time the doors are fully open to all guests since 2020.
